Chain of coffee shops and barista school

Point 242

BACKGROUND

Moscow barista school and chain of coffee shops Point 242 began with one outlet in the working-class neighborhood of Moscow, and then a new one was opened closer to the city center. The company’s founder chose the name with a help of a contest on his Facebook page. A person who suggested Point 242 name won $50. It turned out that a street with such name (Point St.) can be found at New York’s Staten Island.

OBJECTIVE

To design logo and brand illustrations for the coffee shop. The client was inspired by the coffee cup Instagram page of the Studio’s CCO Illarion Gordon (@airborne_ape) and wanted the coffee shop’s brand identity to be similar in its mood to his illustrations.

WHAT WAS DONE
  • Logo
  • Visual identity for packaging
  • Stickers
  • Metal pins
  • T-shirts
RELEASE

2016-2021

We designed and produced cool stickers with all kinds of inscriptions. Any guest can pick them up near the cash register to stick anyplace, such as their laptop.

The elements of style that were initially drawn for the metal pins migrated to T-shirts.

Coffee, music, atmosphere

In the second, more central location, we created graffiti on the walls. Now, the robot is used as a backdrop to live DJ sets.

The iron-clad King of Pop rocks out on the Point 242 coffee cup.
